WHY THE BETTERMENT PROJECT EXISTS

In 2021, our founder, Mason Black, gave an impassioned speech at his school assembly, calling for ‘the boys’ to start taking action and stand up against disrespect and misogyny.

Today, the Betterment Project exists to empower young men and provide them with the guidance and support they need to shape a better future.

Because when we look at the way things are, it’s obvious that things need to change.

WHERE WE ARE TODAY

We firmly believe that boys and young men have a crucial role to play in addressing these issues and reshaping attitudes.

Our existence stems from the urgent need to challenge harmful behaviours, dismantle stereotypes, and foster a culture of respect and equality.

Through our programs, workshops, and community engagement, our aim is to foster personal growth and cultivate an environment where boys can lift each other up, be allies against misogyny and disrespect, and create positive futures for themselves and those around them.
